Richard Baker is a Toronto, Canada based musician who drums for various bands including the ethno-atmospheric Arc, and Mnemosyne as well as other bands, and has released over 20 records in North America and Europe. Richard also produces drone ambience as Cymbl, and remixes historical musical forms into beautiful records. (He also co-runs Arcolepsy Records, an ambient record label.)

Richard reads extensively both ancient and modern texts from as many cultures as possible, existing and vanished. With this reading he attempts to incorporate many approaches into his world view. Some of this view finds its way into his poetry and some just doesn’t rhyme and will find it’s way into a subsequent book.

He may have said, “Support Canadian writers or
future generations will only know us for our
banks and no one reads 16th century banking
texts, or do you?", but then that may have just
been overheard at a party.
